My advice is buy new and not used. The older mowers have to be split in half to work on seals and bearings. Lots of parts and labor! The newer mowers can be worked on a lot easier. A good local dealer would be best also. Its a pain to have to order blades and belts online or something rather than a local stocking dealer.

Be sure you look them over good. Have a NH462 that has the top bar rusted out between the first disc and the inside shoe. I've JB Welded it back to slow the leaks. It holds oil unless you fold it for transport then all the oil runs out. I don't have a dealer that will sale me a bar for it. They all tell me it's cheaper to buy a new cutter.

The NH, Deere and Kuhn that age are all the same. Kuhn built them all. Just something to watch for when buying.

I'm running an older 52 hp utility tractor with a 6 disc 7' 10" cutter and it wouldn't want anyone. Be sure that you don't get more cutter than tractor. Those candies are nice but will more than double the cost of the mower.
