Looking to order a Deere 5100R

I am looking at ordering a Deere 5100R and my dealer is telling me that the earliest it would get here is March and it will most likely be sometime after that with not even a best guess as to when. Is this normal? I've ordered cars before but never a tractor.

With poor sales (weather and economic conditions), Deere is laying off people. Maybe they are waiting for orders to build up before getting up to speed manufacturing stock. This is not a good sign and not a good year for our local farmers. WI has lost about 1600 small farms in 3 years and we are wondering what the future holds.

I can’t afford the M or R series.

I sure like the 16 24 & 32spd transmission options but I have to settle for the E series 12spd.
