My quest for the right snow removal equipment led me to a great discovery today. While checking on pricing at a semi-local dealer that I haven't checked recently. For the sake of thoroughness in addition to asking the price on some new equipment I asked if they had anything suitable that was used, even though I have repeatedly struck out. As it turns out they just took in a tractor on trade with an excellent condition RAD Technologies Blizzard B94A. They hadn't even priced everything yet but were willing to sell the blower separately and took down my contact info once the manager could price it. They got back to me with a price of $1600. Figuring it must be beat up and they were overstating the condition I asked if they could hold it for me to take a look at and they agreed.
Well needless to say it was actually in great shape. Heck the auger still had almost all it's paint intact, the sides were only slightly worn and even the skid shoes were in good shape with very little surface rust. The unit has hydraulic chute rotation but a manual chute deflector. They are holding it on my credit card until I can pick it up and will pay in cash. I'm pretty pleased and think I got a great deal. I really wanted a Pronovost P860 but didn't want to spend over $7000 so I think I'll be very pleased. Does anyone know where I can get the cylinder and hose kit so I can convert the chute deflector to hydraulic control? Thanks
