the bale pickup lever I use on my 1036 is really loose and isn't working very well. If I don't push really hard, the pickup chain goes very slowly, if at all. After stacking for a while, my left arm/shoulder get tired from pushing the lever forward to pick up the bales.
The lever itself is pretty loose and the connection to the side of my tractor is pretty loose anyway so I'm going to put in some new bolts and tighten them up with rubber washers and probably fashion a block of wood between the box and the side of the tractor where it attaches. either way, the lever itself has a lot of play in it and I didn't really see a tightening screw on it when I looked at it. Maybe I need to lubricate the lever?
Does anyone know how to fix this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
