I have a NH TC29DA. My FEL joystick started to get pretty loose so I removed the rubber joystick boot and tightened up the top nut which has a lock washer. I noticed that the joy stick is threaded and threads through the diverter countrol housing with a the threaded end protruding from the bottom. My question- did I lose a bottom locking nut and if I did what size nut/nylock nut do I need? Thank you in advance for your responses. Jay

Mine comes loose every once in a while and I don't even take it apart. I just spin the joystick in a clockwise position and it tightens up again. I am not sure if there is a lock nut underneath. But I do know when I spin it the one turn clockwise it gets real tight again. If you wish I can take mine apart and look for you? Someone here may have the parts manual on CD that can take a picture of it for you also?

I've had plenty of experience with joysticks, Jay. As I remember, there is no nut on the bottom of the threaded rod, just the jamnut on the top. If it keeps coming loose, you might add a drop of Loctite to the threads, or you could remove the shaft and add two jamnuts to the top threads. I think I'd opt for the Loctite.:)

My joystick did the exact same thing on my TC29. I took my rubber boot off and just tightened the nut like you did. Mine did not have any type of lock nut or washer on the underside so I don't think there is supposed to be one.

"Loosey Goosey" I use those words from time to time... made me giggle... I too have your issue, seems the vibs make the stick come loose (that sounded weird) anyway, I keep a wrench in the tool box, but I like the idea of loctite, didn't even think about that one... :p
