I'm looking at a used (no warranty) Lorenz 730 for my Kioti DK4510HS. The Lorenz 730 is rated for 15-40HP at the input. The Kioti DK4510HS is rated at 41.6HP at the PTO. Am I inviting disaster pairing the two?

Thanks,

John

Nah, run it and enjoy!

Let 'er rip! Those are usually only rough guidelines anyway. The blower will not explode at 40.1HP. :) The tractor is probably a hair less than 41.6HP anyway as most manufacturers stated PTO HP specs are "claimed" not "measured".

Agree with others to go ahead and run it.
I have a 730 but I'm under the 40HP sticker rating anyway.

What is the gearbox on the snowblower? And what is the auger drive chain size, and the PTO category?
As I under stand it, Lorenz is built pretty well, not the best there is but stouter than many, so the PTO, gearbox and chain would be the limits on it.

I would not worry about using it, a 1.8 liter engine is not on the high torque side of 40 hp.

2d winter on my 730 lorenz and this is by far the best blower i have ever used and or even seen in action, there is literally no snow condition that affects its blowing ability, thing chews up and spits out every type of snow the same even if it has been once or twice blown already which i have never seen a spiral auger blower rehandle worth a crap. Built like a tank and worth every penny i spent on it, bought it used and is one of their earlier models.

I have a 7' Lorenz and agree their blowers are built like a tank. Mine is rated for 100 hp and my tractor is only 50 hp at the PTO, buy I've backed into hard icy snow banks to move them and have never even sheered a pin on the driveline. The blower just seems to chew up whatever the tractor has enough traction to push it into. Even extremely wet snow or slush has never caused an issue with plugging. If you buy it I'd recommend changing the oil in the gearbox and grease it up, check chain tension and you should be good to go!
