It's hard to say without seeing it, but after the tractor has been used for quite some time, then you shut it off, it might still lose a little more because of the rise in heat when you first shut it down. Then when the engine is cold, remove the cap (never remove the cap when the engine's hot) and you should be able to see the coolant a couple of inches below the top. If you do not add any, it should lose little, if any, the next time you use it, and of course, it should not overheat. If it's overheating, then something definitely needs to be done. And you should be able to find a mechanic who has a radiator cap tester to check to see if it's holding the proper pressue.
