KAMA TS254C--------------Blew my hydraulic pump (outer case cracked and oil blew all over) while pulling a huge load of stone in my box blade. Replaced pump after some rotation issues and finally got hydraulics to work. Shortly afterward went to use machine and found most of the fluid on the floor under the tractor. It came out of the top of the transmission case---from under where the shift levers go into the case. How did that fluid get into the transmission case and overflow. The hydraulic fluid tank is right above the transmission but they are separate housings---not connected. The only possible connection?? is where the pump mounts to the pump drive shaft which comes out of the back of the transmission. Could the pump shaft seal be bad and cause the fluid to get pumped into the trans and overflow??? Is that the symptom that a bad pump shaft seal would cause.
Thanks for the help.

Screenfilter blocked ?
Bad seal on pump ?
Flexconnectors on suction line clamps my be loose letting air in ?

You mentioned "some rotation issues". What does that mean exactly? Could you be running the pump backward?

Guessing here but is the pump mounted to a rectangular opening just above the PTO?
If that is the case you are probably correct about a bad seal on the pump. It sounds like the pump is working but when you parked the tractor the seal let the hydraulic fluid run past it into the the transmission (rear end) case.
It may have been leaking during use or it may have been the work of gravity.
If your transmission uses a different fluid than the hydraulics you probably will need to dump both sumps, solve the leak issue and then refill with fresh fluids. If they use the same fluid (something like hy-trans) then you should be ok.
What model/part number is the pump? Is there any warranty on the replacement pump? If so I would be tempted to return it for another.

That tells me that he got a pirotte pump and it had to be opened to get the rotation correct.

Something go very bad on this tractor. First pump dead head due from something blocking the flow. Like the quick disconnect known to fail and do that kind of trouble.
The second pump maybe blow out the oil seal instead of pump case failure like the previous one. This is an open hydraulic circuit and oil must circulate. There is no pressure release in the pump.
Investigate for trouble before fixing the pump.

Yep, probably another dead head(boom). If it's coming out the shaft seal you blew the oring seals in the pump. Save yourself some money and take the pump apart and replace the internal seals and find out why your pump is dead heading before you crack the other pump. I don't have my ts 345 anymore but, I have been where you are.

I had same/similar pump issues with my LW6 backhoe. I could find no good reason to keep blowing pump seals, so I finally bit the bullet and bought a Prince 7 gpm PTO pump. Wow! What a difference and no more problems.

I also had an LW6. I hated the dang thing. The valve was a piece of crap. It was always making the pressure relief scream. I debated replacing the valve but, I blew a couple cylinder seals so I just sold it. Told em what was wrong with it and said have fun!
