Currently have a CK 25 Kioti that I purchased (new) May 23 - 07. Now has approx 177 hrs. Problem developed recently again while plowing snow. Loss of power, rough idle, stalls out on occassion.

Starts with no problem. Problem usually occurs after it has been running for awhile after initial start up. If I turn key off for a few minutes it will restart and run for a time (short) normal before it loses power just enough time to get me back home to the garage.

Had a similiar problem at 161 hrs. while I was dragging out firewood. Replaced fuel filter which was very dirty. Seem to straighten out until now. Hope this helps as I'm a retired senile citizen with limited abiltiy to communicate.

The current fuel filter doesn't look too bad. Your input & suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thank you in advance for taking the time to assist. kidkioti

Jelled fuel? If you are plowing snow I would say it is cold enough out to cause this problem. Are you running additives in you diesel? If not, you may want to look into it.

I agree with sandlot. Had the exact same symptoms my first year. I was running fuel I got during the summer before the did the winter mix at the pumps. Additive fixed it. My second choice would be clogged fuel filter.

i don't know where you are located but it sounds like fuel is gelling... been there, done that....
get some power service (white bottle) and add to the tank and your fuel can... i always add more than suggested as it gets very cold here in NH... i run the power service year round as it has other benefits as well....

if your fuel is gelling in the tank, you can also get power service 911 which is made to de-ice the fuel and filter......
good luck

Could also be a clogged/blocked fuel tank vent or trash in the intake screen of the injection pump (if applicable to your engine).

Just a bit of an update - The suggestions, by all so far, has been appreciated. I decided that I'll probably go back to sq. #1 and replace that fuel filter again. Even though its not the weather for it :( Its quite possible, and as indicated, that the fuel that I had setting around or already in tank may have developed a fungus or algae growth indicated by the black color sludge on the first filter I took out.

The fuel tank vent appears open & the fuel bowl full but it is quite possible that the intake screen to the injection pump may be applicable. If the fuel filter and additives concentrating on the sludge, gel & de-icing doesn't resolve the problem. I'll set up a servicing appt. with the dealer.

When checking around for fuel filters I come up with two (2) numbers. 84612-43160 & 84612-43161. What if any is the difference? Can one or the other be used to replace the filter in the CK25?? Thanks again for the suggestions. I'll try to keep you all updated. Pete
