1964 Massey 35
Hey everyone, I have a 1964 Massey 35, 4 cylinder gas. Today was the first time I really did some hard work with her. I was running a two bottom plow opening up some new ground. Running great for the first hour. Then like a light switch the engine began to sputter like it wasn't getting fuel and would begin to die. If I put the clutch in the engine would rev right back up. Seems to only be an issue when the engine is under load pulling. Thoughts?

try this. tug on choke a lil.. does it help?

if yes.. then look at the following.

you may have a fuel obstruction.

this can be anything from a vacume on the tank due to no vented cap, or a scabbed on fuel line or filter hanging near a manifold, or a plugged tap or filter screen or even in the carb itself.. like at the flaot valve or main circuit.

do double check spark is ok though... if you have weak spark.. or foul a couple cyls you will be down on power.

post back.

OK so choking it helped. But now it will only run on full choke and not well. Barely got it back to the shop. Has been running fine for the last ten hours I put on it. Till now. Put fuel in this am. Maybe some rust came loose?

if it has good spark. but you canmake it run on choke. you have fuel delivery issues. check flow from the line at the carb. if good. dig in!
