Lifelong friend passed away from injuries he sustained in a motorcycle accident about 4 years ago. He was buried today in a little cemetery in the town we grew up in. Pretty impressive rig he used to transport the body. He helps out with a lot of burials on returning Iraq vets. More about his business here http://www.bdmotorcyclehearse.com/

More pics. He learned of my friends situation from a group of Christian bikers from Corsicana. They had been visiting my friend in the nursing home (the last 2 years) till his death.

It was about a 20 mile trip from Kaufman to Combine. Pretty impressive display, lots of folks pulled over as the procession past (some folks still do this out of respect).

It finally reached the 100 degree mark here in our part of Texas today, pretty warm for a funeral, but at least it wasn't raining.

The casket was made locally by a group of Mennonite's. Beautiful. Some of the bikers had their leathers on, pretty hot for them, but at least there were some old oaks scattered around for shade.

You have our thoughts and prayers. Judging by the friends he kept, I can tell he was a good man.

BTDT Sincerly sorry for the lose of your brother biker and friend. Having owned several bikes and two harleys I know the brotherhood. What better send off I cannot imagine. I hope your friend didn't suffer and that his family is OK. I have never seen a Harley Trike and hearse before ...but what a fitting final ride to someone who ,from your taking time to post; really lived to ride and rode to live. Sorry for your lose bro' god speed to your friend, EL.
