Good evening all. I recently did the 50 service on my B2620. Although the manual does not call for a total change of the hydro oil until 400 hours I was not going to just change the HST filter w/o changing the hydraulic filter and oil since I was already under it and did not like the thought of a new filter and used oil. Anyway, I drained the fluid with the drain plug on the bottom and I misunderstood the location of the other plug or did not look close enough. I took the drain plug out below the HST filter and it had a long stem with a spring around it. Little did I know it had a ball bearing on top of it, I lost it. Called my dealer he had one and I will take care of it this week. My question is this, what is that spring and ball bearing for? He said it was for a pressure relief. I wondered what kind of a pressure relief and as I told him I thought it would be for the type of shut-off for when the HST filter is removed so the hydraulic oil would stop flowing and not waste anymore by just changing the filter. Is this correct? He is in sales but has some shop experience but as he said I am not a mechanic by no means. They all left at 4 pm and we could not get a definite answer. Does anyone know for sure? Thanks in advance.
