Thanks for that tidbit. I did adjust the valve as it was screwed way out and the implement was falling to fast. If memory serves it did stop the implement from moving when seated. I have had several tractors over the years and I am familiar with this valve, I did not realize it proved the lift cyl seal was good....that eliminates one thing.
The first thing i am going to do is change that hyd filter. After thinking of the symptoms, becoming slow and jerky to not working at all, it may have just clogged. I was cutting on some steep hills. could have stirred up a lot of sediment.
This only proves the seal is good if the knob was turned all the way in and the implement wouldn't drop and when you loosen the knob the implement droped. If you don't know when the hyd filter was last change, change it. $44. is a lot cheaper than a hydraulic pump.
