Hydraulic pump went out, bought new one, replaced, new pump worked for 30 seconds, then lost power steering ,and bucket lift, and three (3) point hitch lift,,, after filling up oil it ran out for a minute or two. every time I used the joy stick to raise the bucket. oil level looks fine, no leaks visible when tractor is running. wonder if the pump went bad or worse...

Describe for us what you mean by "Hydraulic pump went out". What did you do, what happened, etc.
I suspect that something caused the old pump to fail and when you put a new pump on, that same something caused the new pump to fail. But need more information from you.

Neighbor of mine just had the same problem on his MF tractor. He told me the hydraulics for the loader and 3 pt. just quit.
What he didn't tell me was that he had driven over a few large boulders. When the tractor came down on top of the boulders it crimped a steel hydraulic line under the tractor cutting off the flow to the loader and 3 pt.
Check the lines for any crimps that may restrict flow.

check the QDs as disconnecting them or having a bad ball check in one can blow up the pumps instantly. usually dumps fluid into the pump gear housing and or splits the pump housing. NEVER disconnect the hoses while it is running.

Next thing check the pump intake pipes and filter in the hyd res under the seat to make sure it didnt come loose or fall apart.

check for air leaks in the lines too. There are a lot of posts on all these issues on here so look for them and read up.
