Oil & Fuel Lost the dipstick in my FX-26D 4wd

Don't ask me how but somehow during a 150 mile trip on my trailer I lost the dipstick from my tractor. Can anyone with an FX-26D measure the oil dipstick and let me know how long it is. I found one that fits and seal the dip stick tube and can rivet a short piece from a salvage yard if I can get the length right.

If you happen to know where the oil level was at on the old dip stick just stick the new one in and see where your level hits it at. Go from there. If you don't know where your level was I don't guess it would work. just a thought.

When making a dipstick for an engine I do the following:

Fill the engine with oil minus 1 quart
Make the dipstick long enough to just touch the oil
Put in the remaining quart and scribe a mark on the new dipstick at the full level

This may not be the best method but I can tell when the engine is a 1/4, 1/2 etc quart low.
