I got plenty of "seat time" this weekend. One of our horse paddocks had pretty much turned to soup this week, and I went in there to do a little drainage work with the FEL. Well, it turns out that this paddock happens to be an old cattle yard, and that "soup" on top was....well, I think you can figure it out. Twelve hours work over two days later, and I have a wonderfully clean paddock. There ended up being a layer of gravel about 6-8 inches below the surface, so I took on the task of removing the entire top layer down to that gravel. I calculate I moved about 180 yards of errr.....compost /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif.
Needless to say, my butt is sore, and my tractor is a mess. I did conclude that as soon as finances allow, I need to investigate a set of ag tires for my tractor, the turf tires are nice in the summer for mowing, but not adequate for this type of work. Also, even though I tried to keep my rear blade on for the weight, it's not enough. I think it is time to do the block of concrete and a few pipes trick for a 3PH counterweight.
I also think I am going to use this as an excuse to buy a pressure washer finally /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif My ony question is, is a pressure washer safe on my tractor? The last thing I would want to do is start removing paint instead of dirt.
