March 2012 new L45--John Deere 650 sold/Kubota M59 TLB/sold bx24 and L3830
Does anyone know what that might be? It does it with the backhoe on or any heavy attachment. The kubota dealer put beairings in it,(a few months ago) but when I put the backhoe on the noise started again. It is now getting pretty loud so I am taking it back in Wed.

Could it be the rim to wheel center connection bolts? May not be that simple but I'd untouque and retorque them, that's rather easy with the BH (jack) on. Just a reminder to prop up the tractor before you start. The lug bolts have already been through that cycle at least once with the bearing replacement.

I would have said bearings too. Have you checked to make sure that there is no debis betwen the wheel and the hub?????? Maybe the axle shaft is bent and taking out the bearing????????

So NO, I do not know what that is but please keep us informed !

I'd do what Bugstruck suggests first. I had a similar problem on my B2400 a while ago and someone on this board suggested retightening all the wheel bolts and that cured the problem.

I am not sure if the 3830 has adjustable width axles on it like my B7510. If it does, there is a bolt that holds the hub to the axle that has to be tightened.

I had a creak in the left rear after about 15 hours on the B7510, tightened that bolt and creak stopped. About 10 hours later it started again, tightened it, stopped. After tightening it about every 10 hours I am now at 84 hours and it seems to have finally stopped loosening up.

I had the same type of thing on my L3130 and only when the backhoe was on. The creak/snap type sound would happen sometimes when changing directions forward/back or when puting a lot of drive torque on the wheels digging. The extra weight of the hoe gave enough traction to let the rim give on the bolts. Retorqued them and it quit for a while and had to torque them again after a couple months.

Thanks Everyone. Mine only creaks with the backhoe on as well. I ask the dealer if he wanted me to put the back hoe on because the boxblade was still on when he looked at it, but he said no, he would take the wheel off and then would know if it was the bearings. Well he replaced the bearings and I didn't put the back hoe on until months later. Now it is getting worse. My father inlaw looked at it this evening and said the same thing a few of you has said. That the outer piece of the rim need tightend. I called the kubota dealer and he said it was not a two piece rim, but it looks to me like they are two parts to it. He told me to bring it in Tuesday. So I will update when they fix it. Other than that, after 300 hrs it has been trouble free and I like it as much now as the day I bought it. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Again Thanks for the help.

Yep, my 3130 has the same creaky noise. I only hear it when moving about in the garage, likely because of the noise reflecting off the walls. I have the R4's, set at the widest stance. If you have the same, and look closely, you will notice the tire-rim assembly is bolted, with 4 bolts, to the center section which is in turn bolted to the axle. (The R1 setup is probably similar or the same). No matter how tight (red in the face and ready to pop) I get the 4 Bolts (> 160 lbs ft.) the creak persists. The tire-rim assembly may be a little larger in diameter than the mating diameter of the center section (radial assembly clearance) allowing for some minor radial slip when the tractor is in motion. If this is the case, IMO this is a minor issue since the weight of the tractor, especially with the hoe installed, will always close up the gap no matter how tight the 4 bolts are. A dab of grease applied to the contact areas when mounting the tire-rim assembly to the center section will lessen the noise as long as the grease persists. I'm not overly concerned. I can't find anything else loose under the tractor and I have worked it fairly hard without bits falling off. If you are sure the bolts are tightened to spec and she doesn't creak with the wheels off the ground, don't lose any sleep over it. If the dealer can't satisfy you then it's time to get to know your machine on a close, personal basis and then perhaps show the dealer what needs to be corrected. Consider this... if the tractor wasn't so smooth and quiet you would never have noticed. Best of luck. Or...disclaimer... I could be all wet /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Loose bolts seem to happen on the left side, not just with Kubota but I have had the same thing with JD, MF, IH and my Kubota… just an audible reminder to retighten things. KennyV.
PS… Martin welcome to TBN… What’s on that cats head???

I have an L4330 with BH90 and had a creaking noise too. Around the 70 hour mark... The creaking started getting louder, and I couldn't find it. I finally got off the tractor and let my brother drive. As I watched him drive away from me, I could see a slight wobble in the rear left tire. I had him stop the tractor and I inspected the bolts that hold the rim to the tractor. All was tight. I then looked and found that 4 bolts that hold the rim to the tire were the culprit. One fell out, two were so loose I could spin them by hand. Now I make it a point to inspect those bolts frequently. I remove the BH-90 every 50 hours and tighten the bolts to spec.
