Love kubota trackhoes

I have found a new job, and it's at a rental company. We have many machines, B21's, B27's and our trackhoe fleet includes 121's. A few old ones (121-2's) but mostly the new 121-3. WOW! Those are some smooth running excavators! I love using them. The only draw back is that kubota puts hyd. thumbs on them with only the two "fingers or teeth" and not three. Makes for a narrow thumb. But, oh well...if I'd buy one, I'd just change it. Just thought I'd share how nicely built kubota trackhoes are.

I have a 121-3 for just a little over a year, I sometimes wonder how I got along without it. I traded in 121-2 which had 1420 hours.I find the -3 more powerful than the -2 but the -2 seemed more balanced than the -3. The stronger hyd. on the machine seem to pull or push it with ease, compared to the -2. Overall the -3 is more comfortable the heater is more eff. then -2. I have the opp. thumb on the unit and I would recommend that you purchase the 121-3 with that attachment it makes a big difference in versatility.

Yeah, I wouldn't go without a hyd. thumb on an trackhoe, big or small. Roughly how much does a -3 cost? I also like the fact they're quick disconects, makes it so much easier and faster.

What is interesting is the -3 is priced less than -2 was when it was sold. I would say in the $5000 range less than -2 was sold for. I paided approx 42k with the quick disconnect bucket and the Thumb. I have steel tracks and a cab.

Very cool, thanks. Yeah, both our -3 are QC's and the -2 isn't of course. Those QC's sure are nice! Ours are rubber tracked though, canopy no cab. Do you have any pics. you wouldn't mind sharing? Thanks again.
