Thanks to all for the imput on Finishing Mowers.
Both the Woods Heritage rd72 and the Landpride fdr1672 would have been adequate for my needs. I mow aroung 6 acres.
But when I saw the Bush Hog RDTH 72, a heavy duty machine build more like the heavy duty models of Woods and Landpride for just $135.00 more than Woods and Less than the local dealers want for Landpride, I had to go with it.
When the saleman said yes to $1900.00 with no delivery, I jumped on it.

My Kubota L3400 pulls this aroung like a dream, a very good match.
My grass will laugh no more.

Nice. I also like the cool grill guard. How much weight does it add?

Probably not as much as that length of railroad track right behind it!

Thought that was all one piece :) but I didn't notice it was RR track. I thought is was a small i-beam at first glance. Good pickup.

How much does it weigh?
Really don't know, plenty enough tho, last year I was mowing with a heavy
5' rotary cutter and really needed all that weight.
I may take the railroad rail off and try it.
I can always put it back on when I pick up something heavy.
Here is a picture of front grill by itself.

Be sure to grease the wheel swivels everytime you mow, I had the 60" model and did not do this and it was a bear to free one of them up, also if you push it under brush or low lying branches them clips can and will come off, I had to install bolts.

Other than that mine mowed great and gave a better cut than my ZTR in tall grass.

Look at that, without the railroad track, it's so light it floats.
Just kidding.
It's a nice addition! Did you weld it yourself?

A welder friend just down the road made it for me.
I needed the weight and wanted the protection.

Better picture of the grill.

I hope to buy a 1-yr old RDTH72 today.

Would like to meet the seller 1/2 way and transfer the mower from one pick-up truck to the other.

Do you think this will work? I know it weighs approx 580 lbs ...but it is on wheels.

Doing this will save me about a 100+ mile round trip

I have a RDTH-72 finish mower also and really like it. The only issue I had was it wind-rowed the grass clippings regardless of how short the grass was when I cut it. After a long process we finally figured out the chains on the rear discharge were in effect sweeping the clippings up and rowing them for me. Even though I am using Gator blades. I wound up having to take all the chains off and now there is no rowing of clippings.
