After having to rebuild the Continental Z134 engine in my 1965 Massey Ferguson 2135 industrial tractor, I wasn't too impressed with the Continentals bypass oil filter system. Very little oil gets filtered, and the important parts the main/rod bearings, etc get unfiltered oil. So here is my low budget fix using fittings, hose, etc that was left over from other projects.

So now all the bearings, etc get clean, filtered oil. I am in the process of making a guard for the oil filter, lines, and fittings.

Nice looking plumbing job. What is the psi setting for the bypass valve and how did you check it out?

Since we use those bypass valves on the fuel systems for racecars, I have a good selection of springs, and I pretty much know what spring will give a certain psi. On this setup the oil pressure gauge showed me I got it where I wanted it right off the bat. Should I need to change it, a different spring plus we also have shims to fine tune the pressure.
