I have a CK25 with 300 hours. Its an HST. No problem in high or middle range. When I shift into low gear (which I rarely use) it will slip out of gear if any load is applied. Sometimes a slight grinding but not always. If I use low gear and keep downward pressure on the gear selector with my left hand it will try to slip but in most cases will not.

. Any thoughts on this? Simple fix or involved? Im wondering if a low fluid level could cause this. I am doing filters and fluids this weekend so Ill see what happens.

BTW: This is my first tractor and I could not be happier. I will go Kioti again when I move up. Only other issue to date is the handle on the fender pulled off when I went to mount yesterday. Bolts pulled out of fender due to rust. I suppose a garage or shed would be a good thing.

I don't think a low fluid level would cause low range to pop out of gear. I thought the range gears were like a three speed manual transmission. Pick the range you want and then let the hst tranny do the work. Never saw the inside of the range tranny but there must be some kind of shift fork and poppets of some kind to hold each gear range or the neutral positions. Mine seems to lock into each position well. Does the shift lever feel like or seem to be locking into the low range and does it move the same distance it did before? Hopefully a dealer will answer who has the experience with the range gears.

Fluid level won't affect this. Does the lever bottom out on the console when in low, maybe linkage is not set right.

Bottom out? Lever seems to be resistant to being placed in low almost like I have to force it a bit. Is linkage adjustment something I can do? i did a search but no go.

Follow the linkage from the range selector to where it enters the differential case;spray the entry point with a penetrant while working the lever through it range of motion. The shaft is most likely binding at this point

What you are describing sounds like linkage. Do as the others have suggested, but look closely at the final linkage arm. We have seen a few that are a little tweeked, which keeps the shifter from fully engaging in low. If it is bent, just remove and straighten the linkage arm. Should take care of your problem.
