Mowing Low HP Flail Mower

Hello all,

I just posted this on a different sectionn of TBN, so forgive me if I am repetitive.

I am wondering if there is a flail mower that will work with my JD2305. This seems like a perfect tool for really cleaning up part of my field and would love to get my hands on one, but most that I have seen require quite high pto hp. Call me crazy, but if my 2305 can run a tiller that will break through hard clay, why can't it cut up grass? I don't need a huge mower, 4'-6' would be fine. Does anyone know of a flail mower that will work with the 18 pto hp on my JD 2305?

I just did a quick search on the internet and Beefco makes one (a 48" one). I'm sure others do as well. I can't speak for any of them. I run a mid and rear finish mower and a 5' rotary cutter.

I have a 2320 and I am running a 52" flail on mine with no problems. I bought mine brand new off ebay for a little under 1,500 with shipping. When the grass gets thick or if there is any thick brush I have to slow down just so the mower chops all the material up. I feel that a 6foot model would definately be pushing the tractor to its limit.
