I just bought a Bobcat CT235 with 250 hrs. I've put about 30 hours on it so far, check the oil regularly. Today I was digging up some rocks with the hoe. For the first 15 min all was fine. I repositioned, shifted to N, set brake and started to get off. The engine died. Couldn't even get to turn over. Battery is good. The low oil pressure light came on. I checked the dip stick, fine. Could this be a clogged filter? What should I check next?

Fuel or electrical is more likely than anything having to do with oil.

I agree.
The oil light likely came on because the key was still on with the engine not running.
I don't think your having a problem with low oil pressure.
Sounds more to me like a safety switch shut the tractor down when you got off the seat and is keeping you from restarting.

What I'm always missing on the tractors is the engine oil pressure gauge. Especially on those equipped with the turbochargers. :thumbdown:

Check your PTO lever for neutral, make sure you didn't bump it. I have done that more than once and learned to check that first if brakes are locked. Also if you get off the seat and accidentally move the hydro pedal it will shut off too.

Also, go under the machine and check for twigs & sticks stuck in any safety micro switch. The micro switches can also be bent by debris.
Additionally:
You can also check to see if the HST travel pedal returns to neutral properly and quickly. It is a common problem to stick or return slowly....make sure it goes to neutral and lube the heck out of it.

Thanks guys. I'll check all the items you all mentioned. Funny thing is the tractor was running fine. I shifted to N, set the brake, engine still running and as I was getting off not quite sure if I bumped the loader joystick or the hydro pedal as stood up from the seat and the engine quite. That's when the low oil pressure light came on. I turned the ign. off, tried to re-start and nothing. Today when I got home from work the low oil pressure light was still on.

As mentioned before...the low oil pressure is illuminated when the engine is not running. This definitely sounds like a safety interrupt switch problem.

(Key turned on, engine NOT running, the oil light should be on.)
(Key turned on, engine RUNNING, the oil light should be off)
Once running the engine will build oil pressure to turn off the light.
It still sounds to me like a safety switch is what shut the tractor down when you were getting off the seat, and I think you have a safety switch somewhere that is keeping you from restarting.
