Hello folks,
It has been a while since I posted last. I have a problem & I'm out of ideas about how to solve the problem. It's a simple problem in that I have not been able to remove the transmission stick to allow me to check the transmission oil level. Also, note I do have a backhoe attachment in place but I've taken steps ensured to releive the hrydrolic pressure by actuating the the levers once the tractor has been turned off. I am not certian if removing the backhoe attachment would change anything? Having exhausted fineness solution I am not considering brute force methods of last resort which will likey break the guage/stick and then probably some kind of a repair to get it out which seems less than optimal. I have tried to heat the area using a heat gun to expand the metal around the gauge/stick, removed a bolt to ensure I ensure this is not a suction issue holding the guage/stick in, tried of lubricants such as Corrosion-X and others. just an FYI the tractor has been guarged since day 1 & purchased new so corrosion is not an issue I simply used corrosion-X to see if it would do anything and it did not. I attached straps to try and get more leverage/pulling force and I think the gauge/stick may be plastic, at the top, thus I am worried about pulling the end off and then having nothing to grip once that happens. Has anybody run into this kind of an issue, and more important, does anybody know of a viable I might try solution since all my attempted solution and ideas have failed?

Thoughts?

Thank you in advance.

Have you tried rotating it? rotating and pulling it?
That doesn't look a lot different than the one on my MT240 and it simply pulls right out.

Maybe get a close up picture of your actual one on your tractor.

Maybe it screws in to secure it??

If it were me, I'd put a cloth over it, then use pliers or vice grips (just snuggly tightened) to get a good grip and then gently wiggle/twist back and forth while pulling up.

Twist it and pull up Hard, it will come out! Mine is the same way, it has a good rubber gasket on it!

Thanks for the suggestions. I have tried to twist and pull gauge/stick out with pliers but it has been a few months since I last tried with any real effort. I will take some pictures and try again this weekend. Either it will come out or the end will break but at least I will know if i nee to drill it out and drain the transmission or not. Other than this issue it has been a good tractor.

Yes to what others have said: give it a slight twisting motion back and forth
(like jiggling it), while pulling up.
My MT125 was tight as all get out! I would need channel locks every time.

My 3025 is really easy to pull out.... Why the difference? The 125 was a cylindrical metal plug with the dipstick on one end, and the little handle on the other.

On the 125, I finally took some emory cloth and 'polished' the metal base around the dipstick. That made it a lot easier to pull it out. I would still have to 'jiggle' it, but I could then do it by hand.

The 3025 has the same style, but with an o-ring at the top of the 'cylinder' portion. It pulls out much easier.

Once you get it out, try sanding / filing down the 'cylinder' portion, don't have to do too much.....

Mine comes out almost too easily.
