LS 35 lawnmower quits

My neighbour has a LS35 gear drive lawnmower and he claims that after 20 minutes of cutting, the engine shuts down and won`t start until it cools down.
It will crank but won`t start.
It`s a single cylinder.
Has anyone else had this problem or any ideas ??

My first suspect would be the coil.

Have him check spark after it dies. If the carb is running rich it could also cause same symptoms. What engine make and model does it have?

Going to have him check for spark next time it quits.
14 HP Kholer engine single cylinder.
