LS backhoe subframe mounting locations-

:anyone: Good morning, I've been lurking in the back ground, enjoying the various threads and am hopeful some one can steer me in the right direction-Bought a LS 4046 hydrostatic drive with FEL. I also picked up a Bush Hog 750 back hoe attachment- The previous owner had the hoe attached to an old JD 3 pt style- the LS dealer said that unless I used the LS hoe attachment (10 k $) that any other set up would void the warranty- (wish Id known that before I bought it)- So.... i can fabricate quite well, have welding and metal equipment...and purchased a stock of channel, plate and round stock, what I'm in need of is specifically is the attachment points that the stock APPROVED subframe would mount to on the 4046...if anyone out there has that setup... there must be some flaws in that rear axle casting that would prompt them to void the warranty so eagerly..if you have or know where to attach to this model, can you please share a photo ? septic field on the new house is in need of more latterals, this thing has a lengthy to do list already. Thanks upfront !

The dealer wants you to use, the subframe, or subframe and LS brand back hoe? As for the mounting points, the LS tractors I looked at replace the draw bar mount with one that has a " pocket " that the rear mount slides into, and the front slides into a bracket that extents off the front loader brackets. Also you might contact Bush Hog and see if they have a mounting kit for the 750 that fits your LS.

Thanks mr Bumpkin, They will absolutely not help you with a subframe mount, just absolutely mandating the hoe and mount as a kit- I've built a lot of stuff in my time, figured if you throw enough metal at something it will beef it up(if it doesn't colapse)LOL- but I'm sure there are certain stress points that should be either favored or avoided, i didn't consider the draw bar as a mounting point..do you happen to know of any "visual aids" ? haven't used that term since high school !

I can snap a few pics of mine that fits a 3037, can't be much different. I think the whole deal is that it's a 3 pt mount and won't take the leverage and forces that a 3 pt mount hoe will cause. The factory one fits into a cross bar right behind the front wheels and attaches in a very heavy bracket that is under the PTO shaft, pretty much making it a whole tractor frame mounted deal, stresses distributed throughout the entire frame. Go 3 pt if you want but acknowledge that it's not ideal, structurally sound and unsafe and accept the fact that the factory says you are on your own.

Or buy the right tool for the job...... It's not complicated.

About the only visual aids I can think of is Google LS subframe, a friend of mine has the same tractor you have and has ordered a backhoe, when he gets it in and installed I can get some pics for you if your still needing them by then. I sort of went through the same thing you are with my kioti, however dealer said as long as I used the kioti frame, they were fine with a different brand of hoe. By the time it was all said and done it was going to be a 1000 dollars for the subframe, I hated to spend that kind of money on something like that, but finally after havin the tractor for two years I got a deal on the subframe for 600. I will say it was really nice to just remove some bolts and brackets and replace them with the new ones without having to build or modify anything.

This end fits in slots at the front of the undercarriage

This part fits into a bracket under the PTO and is held in place by 2 pins.

Thank You Countrybumpkin and Breadtruck, I get it now, this set up keeps the strains more monolithic than specific, thus not allowing any one point becoming over torqued-(think i said that right), That section is what the dealer said wasn't available..go figure, I ve seen subframes available for all kinds of hoes on e bay, Auction time, but not LS and not at the Dealer.
