LS ECU

You can mail an ECU. I mailed the ECU for my motorcycle to Florida to be reprogrammed to remove the speed limiter, enable quick shift, remap fuel and remap the throttle by wire.

No need for it to be installed (other than testing) to program with the right tools. Do the dealers have those tools? or to they work through the on board connector. One could plug it into another tractor to program but would a dealer be willing?
Is the software tied to a particular serial number embedded in other components (ie newer mopars, etc) and can only be refreshed from the mothership computers.? Control of software on everything has become the holy grail by companies.

Hi all, I'm one of those guys that looks at magic boxes when things go poof. Someone just brought me an ECU from a '15 LS XR4040H with a Shibaura motor. Symptoms were that it doesn't run, and blows the Fuel Shut-off fuse and the Engine control fuse. I can confirm that the ECU is burnt internally. I will be looking at it to see if there is anything that I can reverse engineer and repair. No idea yet, but trolling around here, it looks like this has happened to others, and the price for replacement is excessive. Thought it might be useful to at least confirm that it is definitely possible that some of them need the magic smoke replaced.

Hi Bo, pretty sure that's my magic box that you have. You picked it up by the Dells, correct?
