New Holland Workmaster 35 (LS g3033)
My father, having only 1 acre of land on which sits the house and garage, decided he had always wanted a tractor with a front end loader. So he bought one, a New Holland Workmaster 35 which I have found is an LS g3033. Since he had no real use for it, it brought it to me to use on my 27 acres. He kept the Ford 8N he rebuilt.

But since I have it, and am using it, I want/need a disc. I've heard all sorts of things about what it will and wont be able to handle, mostly from folks who dont have that tractor. So I was hoping to find folks here who know and hopefully have that tractor. What size disc can I effectively use with it?

New Hollands web site list only one disc, but they list it as specifically working with that tractor. Attachments-and-Loaders-Compact-Tractors New Holland disk-harrows - Models, technical data and characteristics I have been told, even here in the attachment forum that particular size is too big.

I am very confused. I am ready to spend some money, but of course don't want to waste it. I had thought that Tractor Supplys box frame disc CountyLine® Heavy-Duty Disc, 6-1/2 ft. Cutting Path - Tractor Supply Co. would work, now I don't know what to think.

Does any one here have a g3033 and is using a disc? if so, what is it, what will it handle?

I originally looked at the G3038, and determined it just wasn't heavy enough to pull my 8' King Disc with 20" blades (worn down to 19"--but will replace with 20" next year). So I went with the R4041, and that gives it a good workout in 4WD and loaded AG tires, also with FEL for added weight. However, I wonder if it would be better to pull off the loader to take weight off the front end, I try to disc with the FEL up pretty high to put more weight on the middle part of the tractor. Seems to help.
I'd say stick with a 5' to 6', with no more than 18" blades, make sure you account for AG or R-4 tires, I think the R-4 won't pull as well in messier conditions. Are you farming or doing food plots? Plowing before discing? I farm with mine so I'm getting the disc as deep as possible, maybe food plots don't require that so much, more of seedbed than anything else. Maybe a tiller is better depending on your use(s).

I have a TSC 6.5' (6') 3 point disc. I pull it just fine with my G3033. Usually in M range 1-3 sometimes in 4th if shallow. Depends on how deep you want to go. Remember 3033 does not have drift control. Also those discs are adjustable so that you can adjust the bite. I used to pull it with my massey TO30 with no problem as well. Ken

Help me understand drift control, what is that?

Do you use that TSC disc as your primary tillage? what type of ground?

It is actually draft control.

What draft control does, on a tractor that is equipped with it, is it senses load on the pulled implement via the top link. As load is increased, such as coming into a root or rock, the draft control valve will raise the implement and then return it to the preset position to continue when the obstacle is cleared.

Search on draft control as there are several posts on the subject.

As the previous post said it is technically called draft control. He explained it very well. I use the disk as my primary tillage. Ground is sand to red clay. Depends where you are on the property.
