I NEED HELP! My LSXG3032 tractor just blew some kind of plug/cap from the hydraulic loader valve. Pumped about three gallons of fluid in seconds. The plug (there are two) is located on the aft left side of valve body. Unable to read valve body casting #'s. I'm a rookie at tractor maint, but spend twenty plus years as aircraft mechanic. The plug seems to be an access hole, or something needed in machining interior of the valve body. There are no threads on interior of hole, and other plug seems pressed in. What is needed to fix?

Hi. Welcome.

First determine why the plug failed. Then you will need to install a new plug. A parts manual will help id the part.

That would be great only the parts manual does not show the plugs. I believe it failed because of an overpressure-surge. I hit an unseen buried stump while both moving forward, and lowering the bucket. Nearest dealer with service/shop is 40 plus miles away. Hopping for some help here to enable me to get plug via mail order/ on line.

An xg is a new series, and it comes with a warranty... Call your dealer.

The pressure relief valve would have kicked in to prevent anything like this from happening. It sounds more like that plug was installed incorrectly, or it had a manufacturing flaw.

I'd take a picture of the back side of the valve body so you can send it to your dealer after calling them. If there are no threads for the plug, it must be some kind of press fit which means it's less likely to be something you can service yourself. At the very least, I'd call the dealer to talk about it to one of their mechanics and see what they recommend.

No. Just as it came from factory. I know the warranty should cover this, I just have spent most of my life fixing things myself. It goes against the grain to have to take it 80 plus miles roundtrip and three or four days of waiting on someone to call that it is done for something I could have fixed in a few minutes. I appreciate all the help.

Hello Nick - I know this forum is a little dated now - but I just had this exact problem happen to me. That "plug" blew out. Not under any kind of heavy operation, just pushing a small pile of dirt back into a trench...really nothing at all for a tractor. It was the lower one opposite the connections going to the loader cylinders. What was your resolution?

You might have to send him a PM, he has not been on for awhile.

Contact your dealer. Might be that they know about this issue by now. Could be an easy fix: they might be able to instruct on how to fix (any parts and they might supply under warranty), come out to fix, or come get your tractor.
