LS MT225 weird motor problem

Some times with a load or with out a load the motor will start making a weird revving sound and I will lose power. It happens on long or short jobs and last for 10 seconds to about 120 seconds. Any idea what it is? Fuel is clean and good. It has about 235 hours on her.

What about the filters (air and fuel)?

I mention that because it's under 25hp and probably doesn't have the Eco Junk.

Checked the filter both good. No water in one and clean on other.

Is the engine slowing down or speeding up when it is doing this? Does it do it at all engine speeds (idle, max, in-between)? Can you post a video of it?

I run it at 2000 Rpm Unless I am dealing with a big load than I run it at 2500 Rpm. It has done it at lower Rpm all so. I will try to get it on video. Thanks

My new dealer is about an hour away and my main rig is down and wife Jeep can't tow it so I hope you guys help me find the problem.

I have same unit at 227 hours, just put grapple on used it without issue. Since these tractors have an electronic throttle and also an electronic kill solenoid it could be either is going bad or connections are loose. Regardless you should have some warranty left for dealer to repair at no cost. If you have ruled out fuel and filter then it has to be something else. I have had in the past electric pto switch go bad causing no start on zero turn mower. I know there is circuit passes through for safety. Doubtful it’s your seat switch as the MT225S will start and run without occupant. Now it could be your safety switch on the seat, if no weight is on seat and hydrostatic drive is engaged tractor will die. Previous threads you mentioned backhoe on tractor meaning you have positional seat. Inspect switch check continuity disconnected this might be your issue. Regardless you have warranty coverage.

I have the same 225s. It has had the same issue since new. Currently at 77 hours. LS had me check the engine speed sensor fir debris on its magnet. Not the issue. It's more prevalent in the cold for sure. I'm going to play with hydro oil levels, too as I topped it up after a steering cylinder repair and not got worse.
filled it from the bottom of the stick to the full mark.
