- LS MT7 101 Farmall 656 Ford 2610 Farmall 140. JD 670
I don’t see much out there about the larger LS tractors so I thought I would give you an update on mine. I currently have 160 hours on my LSMT7101. I bought this last October after a bit of frustration with an MT 573. I had electrical gremlins that just couldn’t be fixed and the dealer bought the tractor back from me. I went with the MT 7101 because I needed a bit bigger machine and this one has an entirely different engine and control system than the smaller one. I can honestly say that I am completely satisfied with this tractor. It has been essentially flawless. The heaviest use I have for it is running a new Holland 575 baler And an 8 foot snowblower. I bailed a couple hundred bales of straw today with really heavy wide windrows and the tractor didn’t flinch once. The quality is excellent, the fit and finish is perfect and it is a pleasure to operate. And it has plenty of power for its frame size and great traction with the tires loaded and R1’s. I estimate that the total weight is between nine and 10,000 pounds. The transmission has three ranges, four gears, a Hi/low, and a creeper gear. I have always able to find exactly the right gear to match the job. I’ve only actually had to use creeper once and that was for blowing a patch of 4 foot wind packed Snow drifts. I initially went with the LS brand because he is the closest dealer at 40 miles away other than Kubota which is still 35 miles away and I was not interested in paying the orange premium. Overall I am completely satisfied with this tractor and would absolutely buy it again. And while it does not have the nostalgia factor of my farmall 656, which is just a lot of fun to use, it always does the job perfectly without drama
