We have been looking for some user reviews, problems, comments on the 8101 but have not come across much. We are looking to purchase one and would welcome experienced opinions with this model and/or point me to a discussion somewhere else.

Thank you!

The XP series is new for 2018. You aren’t going to find much online about it. Most folks here have have compacts or sub-compact tractors. The are a few of us with XU series machines, and a couple with P series machines.
They sure seem nice though. I generally don’t buy big ticket items the first year of production, but if it is put together as well as my LS, you won’t have any problems.

That’s a good point! There are a handful of 2017 models on tractor house along with the 2018’s so I didn’t question how long the model had been out.

Thanks for pointing that out. Another question to add for the dealer!

SplitHoof - please share any info you find. I looked at one of these the other day and I am really tempted to buy it. Seems like a lot of tractor and very nice for the price.
My 3038 has been great but it just isnt big enough.

I went and took the test drive and it’s a very nice rig. The standard option package includes a true 3rd function for the loader and 3 rear remotes. 40 gear tranny and the model I tested had the manual 3 point lift/draft controls instead of the electronic setup. It has a manual lever on the back of the tractor to control the 3 point when hooking up your implements. The specs give the 3 point lift 4 tons of capacity and 5100lbs on the loader to full height. You will not find that in the big brands of the same hp. Grammar air seat is standard with swivel base is standard. I’m a big/talk guy and I had issues in the cab with gear selector pressing up against my right leg and the foot throttle was too close and to far to the right. The hood was partly metal which I liked in lieu of the all plastic versions. Very nice tractor.

Headlight/turn signal controls are on the right side, speed group gear selector was on the left, creeper selector was in the floor on the left right where you foot would set - those items were awkward. And the emergency brake handle seemed loose towards the off position. It just stood out for some reason.

And at the end of the day, I think I am buying the TYM T1054! I like the cab layout better. Interior layout seems to make better sense to me anyway. It has the Bosch 3 point control with the ground control on the fenders. I think I would prefer the manual but time will tell.

More to follow!
