Ok, I admit it. I'm getting hard of hearing and didn't realize that stupid "beeb, beep, beep" isn't just the constant ringing in my ears.
Rather it was the parking brake I left on while driving forward on my new tractor. I kept wondering why the crazy tractor was lugging like it was. :ashamed:
Anyway, I finally figured out why the tractor was coming to such a sudden stop and let off the parking brake. I guess I had driven around the back of the rental garage and into the back yard about 500 feet or so.
The parking brakes don't seem to hold as well as I thought they did on an incline now. Does anyone know how to tighten up the parking brakes?
I've read the manual, and it only makes a bare reference to adjusting the right and left brakes. You have to take off the cover located on the left side of the steering tower. There are two thumb screws holding it on.
I've seen the elongated "nuts" used for tightening the right and left brakes in that area. Is this what is used to tighten up the parking brakes too?
On automobiles, this is very similar.
Thanks in advance!
