Dealer is offering $25,000 cash for XR 4046 with loaded tires in New York. Am I paying a fair price?

Dealer is offing me a R4047 with 25 hours for $22,000 with FEL, weighted tires and 66" box blade. He purchased it in April because it was the last tier 3 he could get, but has decided he does not need it. It's got 22.5 hours on it. He'll do the 50 hour service and detail it for me. Drove it on his farm over the weekend, and all seems fine to me.

Dealer confirmed with factory rep the balance of the warranty will transfer to me (which I'll insist on in writing).

Seems awfully nice to avoid the tier 4 exhaust system that takes a computer to diagnose.

I know they switched engines and added the tier 4 exhaust, but what other differences, both pro and con should I be aware of?

Sorry for being such a noob! Both tractors are Hydro.

The price on that R4047 sounds good. I'd jump all over that. I'm still leery of Tier 4, and the Tier 3 R4047 has proven to be a really good, dependable tractor.

Does the XR4046 come with a loader also? If so, that is an excellent price.

I think both are pretty fair prices...maybe a touch high on the 4046. I paid $21,500 for my R4047, but no box blade, or loaded tires (granted, it was brand new). I'd jump on the 4047 between those two. The only two drawbacks are limited foot room when mounting, and a bit lower max lift height on the FEL than most of the competition.

Nothing to be sorry about. But thanks for letting us know. I am pretty sure that you would be happy with either unit. Take a long hard look at both, which is nice since you can literally have them side by side. That will make it much much easier for you. Forget about the cost difference, get the one that YOU prefer. ;)

XR 4046 comes with FEL.
Dealer only had XR 4046 with shuttle on the lot. Sat in that one, and didn't feel cramped at all, and I'm a big guy 6'1" 250. Drove the R4047 on his farm. Picked up some hay and dirt with it. Didn't seem like much difference to me between the 2. Parking break and 4wd selector was maybe a little better spot on the XR, but that's all I really noticed.

Thanks for the advise guys! I'm gonna sleep on it tonight, but I think the R4047 will be my choice.

The R4047 is an excellent tractor. People confuse tier 4 with better fuel economy which isn't the case. All tier 4 is emissions, they are actually worse on fuel. You aren't missing anything with tier 3. Thats why i bought my 3240, really like tier 3.

I just picked up a used New Holland Boomer 50 which is basically an R4047 and I'm mucho impressed thus far.
