If you mean the EGR cooler, you would have to disconnect it from the DPF and inspect the end of it. It should have dry black soot on it. If it is wet with coolant or has a shiny baked on varnish on it, coolant is leaking into the exhaust from it. It could be removed and pressure tested if in doubt.
