LS2020H Not Starting

I have a general question. What could be my problem with my tractor not starting???

Currently it will not start on its own. When I turn the key...nothing. I have good voltage at the battery and the solenoid.

If I hook up my battery charger (not in boost mode) it fires up instantly.

I had the battery checked out and it came back within OEM specs...

I've checked all connections and the are good.

What am I missing???

we had neutral start switch act up and do same thing on older john deere, check ground and clean cables or maybe try another battery if you have one

A weak battery cable could show voltage at the solenoid but lack oomph to spin the starter. Same with poor ends or connections. It's actually odd that your charger provides turning amperage. Can a buddy ck voltage at the starter in both conditions you describe?

Whis: no neutral safety switch on the tractor. Jimmy: I'll try and get those readings this afternoon/evening. When I hooked the charger up it was in addition to the battery. Not straight to the cables.

haven't seen a tractor in a long time that didn't have neutral start switch, what kind?

Enlisted the help of a friend's SIL, who happens to be an electrical engineer.. Wade can work a multimeter like nobody's business. Come to find out after he chased all the wiring down it is the starter relay. Thanks for all the help.
