Hi everyone.

My girlfriend and I are about to pull the plug on the new MT125. I've gotten so much great information on this forum and other sites but I have a few questions I can't seem to find an answer to.

We're getting the MT 125 TLB MMM, I'm working with a great dealer in Colorado, Legacy tractors up in Fort Collins. So hear are some of the questions I can't find answers to;

What is the weight of just the bucket?
Worksaver now makes a light weight (95Lb) skid steer quick attach specifically designed for subcompact tractors. They also make subcompact pallet forks with 36 inch forks that weigh 208Lbs, putting me right at 305Lbs. I have read almost every pallet fork thread on here. The reason I am thinking of going with this set up is the ability to put on a three point SSQA on the rear and then I could use the forks there or on the front. I'm not sure yet if it makes sense to do this and then when I need the bucket just pin it back on, or convert the bucket to SSQA. I am well aware of, and have read so many threads on, how it reduces lift capacity etc. But I have not seen any threads Address this new subcompact quick attach and the much lowered wait compared to other Systems. Any thoughts? I arty know that I'll probably keep the pallet forks on most of the time after I get done with the majority of digging projects around here. That's another reason I want to know the weight of the bucket, like how hard is it to pin on and move around.

Has anyone fluid filled the rear tires on MT 125? I have a loader on quite a bit, but I'm also going to purchase or manufacture a really nice combination ballast box and tool carrier. We live up in the foothills above Boulder Colorado on 20 acres of Rolling too moderately steep (where I will not be driving the tractor) terrain. I was thinking of adding wheel spacers to improve the stability, but if I do fluid filled the tires can I still use wheel spacers? Thoughts?

The dealer has an ok deal on an 18 foot trailer, but we live up in the mountains in the roads are tight and I'm wondering if a 16 foot trailer would work? I definitely can't do a 20 foot trailer.

I was thinking of getting an auger, but around here we have lots of decomposed granite (wasn't planning on auguring in that) and in some areas where I plan to put holes it's near the transition point between's dream bad topsoil and some of that decomposed granite/rocks. With the SSQA on the front I feel like another option would be to either manufacture or purchase a small tree Bucket and almost use that in the backhoe to dig for posts as opposed to an auger?

Box blades: 4 foot or 5 foot? I'm thinking 4 foot just because of the soil type we have around here.

Found a great deal on this thumb: guess I cant post links, but it's a titan 24" for 140.., is that too big or too small? Healer is checking on a different thumb and will weld it on but since it's getting welded on I want to make darn sure I pick the right one.

Has anyone installed the LS factory rear auxiliary hydraulic with detent? Worth it? I'm thinking for a top and tilt eventually or for the auger if I get one, etc

Lastly, (for now LOL), BXpanded has lots of cool implements and attachments. Does anyone know of other manufacturers that make a single tooth claw for the LS Backhoe? I plan on getting a pirahna bar.

I know this is a lot of questions, but this is a big purchase for us and I make sure that I get everything right. Seems like this is a great community and I really appreciate any advice or help I can get.

So, first off, welcome to the Forum! You will have to tell JD hello for me! I purchased my MT125 from Legacy 2 years ago in April! We drove 550 miles each way to pick it up.

A 16' trailer will handle it no problem (that's what we have), plenty of room.

For the thumb, i have the bolt on titan thumb (same size). The dipper stick is 1/2" narrow for for the bolt on and I had to get two 1/4" plates to "sandwich" on both sides. I like the bolt on because I can move it up or down on the dipper stick for different uses.

I don't have the rears filled, only adds a little weight and I think it's better to just use an implement or ballast box. Spacers would be a higher priority to me. I have 2" spacers front and rear.

I have never been able to "overload" the FEL, so I don't think adding that subcompact SSQA would decrease the capacity to the point of making a big difference. I have not taken off the bucket, but it's only 4 pins. I think putting it back on would be more of a pain.

I have a PHD w/9" auger and don't have too much problem here, but we have hard clay and caliche. Until I got "used to it", I got the auger stuck a couple of times. Just used a pipe wrench w/ a long handle and "unscrewed it". After the learning curve, I got the "feel" of it and didn't have any other problems.

I use a 54" heavy box blade w/o any problems whatsoever. Again, there is a learning curve to use it right. I don't think you would go wrong with a 48", but if you can find a 54", it would match up nice. (With the 2" spacers on each side, my wheels are at 53").

I put a "tooth bar" on the front bucket (5 teeth) and it really made a difference in digging capabilities. I picked up the tooth bar for $130, a bit cheaper than the piranha bar, but I hear they are very good.

I hope I was able to answer some of your questions. Don't be afraid to ask more. You can send me a PM also if you wish.

Thanks for the Quick Reply! can I ask where you got your spacers? I really think the tractor will feel a lot more stable. I rented the BX TLB that Home Depot has a couple of times to decide, and it was a wee bit tippy. I had to run the stabilizers down most of the way as a 'safety', but that was also trying to move some stuff I maybe shouldnt have.

JD is great, was really patient with me when I visited.

You think a 14' trailer would work? I am tight on driveway maneuvering room...

I think a 14' would work, but tractor only, no other implements except for along side. The overall length of the tractor is about 12'6" with the BH tucked straight. When I picked mine up, I actually used a 6x12 trailer, but had to hang the BH over the tongue to balance it out with enough tongue weight.

As for the spacers, the lugs are a 5 on 4.5 pattern. Very common in the Jeep world. The center hub is larger than the stock jeep hubs, but I found a seller / manufacturer on ebay that made the hub hole bigger. I paid about $150 for all 4. Took some searching / calling.

I sent you a PM.

Odd that they don't list the weight of the bucket alone. I haven't had mine off yet.

All four tires loaded with RG, no spacers. Might look into that some day.

I ave never removed my bucket, but the one that came with mine appears to be set up for SSQA
and pin on, loader model 1101 is like that... so if the one you get is the newest model, you may
be able to get the SSQA mount, and be good to go.
