LOL! Just a carb huh? Simple enough. I have been talking with some of my gearhead family members and friends lately, and we have all decided that the high horsepower ratings in these lawn mowers is just to sell more mowers. Bragging rights essentially since these things have more than enough power. When you think about it, most full size tractors of 30 to 40 years ago had 15 to 35HP and it was more than enough. Granted they were geared differently and operated much differently, but still I guess HP is all relative.
I won't be modifying my Command 23 anytime soon, it's got more than enough power for my needs and I am quite pleased with it. But it is very humorous that all these HP differences are simply by changing a few bolt on parts.
So are you gonna hotrod the Honda? I told my dad about the Honda option for the 682. He said he was going to run his Kohler into the ground and then decided if he wanted to do an engine swap or just buy another tractor. With him, who knows, he might decide he wants a ZTR for the fun factor. It's not like we don't have plenty of other tractor toys to play with. I think right now he's playing with a JD 430 that my brother talked him into buying.
