Cub Cadet LT1042
borrowed a 17cu. tow behind wagon to clear rocks..filled it with roughly 700lbs. and pulled it all around my yard with little hills and dips...never broke a sweat....ran it full like this for around 20-30 mins and afterwards i felt the tranny..was warm but not hot like i expected....bought this Cub from Tractor Supply here in Upstate NY...very happy with the performance..the only complaint i have is the cupholder...went to drink my water and had some clippings in it...they really need it to be on the other side..DO YOU HEAR ME MTD>>>THE OTHERSIDE!!!!....lol /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

glad to see everyone has an interest in the post..no lies in it whatsoever....
i do have a question if anyone can tell me...

Can i switch the 1554 front wheel/tire and the 1550 back tire/wheel with mine?...liking the lower profile look..

the 1554 has a larger front wheel than the 1550...
the 1550 has a larger rear wheel than the 1554...but the specs claim they are the same on the website...must be talking about the height of the overall package...

It's good to see a positive 1000 series post! There's not too many of them. I think you caught everyone off-guard! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif As far as the tire/wheel swap thing, you'll have to compare the front spindles and rear hubs to see if it's a direct swap. You can go thru the CC website for parts diagrams, but you'll need a model and serial # from a 1500 series to compare. Hopefully a 1500 owner will donate their numbers for the sake of science!?!?

G/luck

Yes, it's great to hear someone has a properly working 1000 series for a change /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Yes, you'll need to do what JTKub said, and also measure the overall height of the new tire-wheel combo you want to use as if you change that, it can effect the height setting on your mower deck. If the 1550 rear wheel/tire is substantially taller then that used on the 1042, and I think it is, that could set your deck to too much of a forward lean which would not be good.
