Considering snowblower attachment for my LT1046 Cub. How do they work and where would I look for a used attachment? Or should I buy a blade attachment instead? Thanks Gary

Hello, i have heard before that a snowblower is only good for the dry fluffy snow. If you have the wet slushy, heavy snow, you might be better off with a blade. The person that told me this was my dad, who used to be a cub dealer........Good Luck....Don

Gary;

I would say it depends on your application/location. If you live in an area with little snow, a blade would be fine (and cheaper) If you have moderate snow+, a blower might be better to throw the snow farther away. And, if you have a narrow driveway you don't want to keep packing the snow closer in with a blade.
Given the fact you have a lawn tractor, you will be limited by how much deep/wet snow you can throw OR push. I think more snow you'd be much better off with a blower, but you'd just have to go slower in the deep/wet stuff. Chains and rear weights would be strongly recommended.
I personally use a blade, but in front of a Cub sub-compact 4X4, so it goes thru nearly anything. I think a blade is more fun, and quicker. But if we have LOTS of snow....I have the cab and blower ready!

For used stuff, look on Craigslist or Ebay. Good luck!
