Hello,
I've had a Cub Cadet LT1050 for almost 2 years. Today I was mowing uphill and when I was near the top of the hill I heard the hydrostat whine a bit louder than normal and a couple of clicks - then I was out of business - unable to go forward or reverse. I briefly looked for a broken drive belt, but I didn't find a broken belt (I could have missed it, my wife is throwing a party tomorrow so I needed to get the last half grass cut w/ the push mower before dark.) The motor starts up and runs fine - nothing happens when the pedal is pushed.
I've done a bit of reading on the forum and it seems that others with the 1000 series have had similar problems, but I didn't really get a good feel about how the problem was fixed.
Does anyone have an idea what the problem is - belt, transmission, tensioner spring? Is it covered by warranty? If not, what parts are needed to repair (and approx. cost) and about how difficult is the repair?
I bought it at Lowe's, I know I should have used a CC dealer.
Thanks for your help!
