I have a 2 year old LT1050 and the other day I went to cut the grass only to have the pto disengage each time I tried to go forward. I tried it in the Reverse bypass mode and all was fine. I pulled the deck and cleabed it all out. I checked the belt and it was fine. The blades spin freely and I checked underneath and all looks good. I tried again and had the same results. I checked a little deeper yesterday and find I can engage the pto but as soon as I move forward it disengages. Here is the kicker, I engage the pto and I can now mow in reverse only in the safe mode. I can use the tractor in the Reverse saftey mode to go both forward and back. Any ideas?
Am I glad the manufactures are adding all this saftey stuff on these machines. How did I not run down my labs while cutting all these years I will never know.
Thanks for any help.

Do you still have the mower? I know this is an old thread, but check on the transmission where the forward/reverse bar connects. That is where the safety switch is. There is a ground wire and a red wire going to it. Check the red wire for insulation breaks.

I posted a thread here.
