In my TC29D manual on page 3-2 is a chart showing when to do various maintenance items. One of the things to lubricate is the "drive cover shaft". I'm not sure, but I think they mean the zerk in the center of the drive shaft going to the front axle for the telescoping part of the drive shaft. Did they mean to say "drive shaft cover"? I'm attaching a scan of that page and the item I'm talking about is No. 21. I've greased this before, but wasn't sure what it was called.

Mosey,

I think your suspicion is correct. on my TC18 The only place to lubricate the drive shaft is the zerk.

I think so too. I've come to call this this the bottomless zerk as on my TC 40D and my old 1720, you could pump into this forever. Never really sure where it's all going, but if you don't, over time the tractor will develop a growling sound when going in reverse under load.

Thanks. The first time I greased this was the fist winter I had it. It was making a squealing noise.

Mosey,
I dont remember specifically which number(s) but there is a fitting or two that I have never found on my TC33D. Have you found every grease fitting that they show. I will be changing the oil and lubing the tractor within a month so I will try to write down which one(s) I can't find this time.

Spencer - I think I have found them all except one. I'm not sure about #20, which they call the "Pedal Shaft". I need to pull off the covers under the dash and look in there.

Spencer - I think I have found them all. The one I wasn't sure about, #20, turned out to be the Pedal Shaft, one each for the brake and clutch. Ok, I will write down the one(s) that I can't find when I do my next service and maybe you can help me find it.
