I was at our local (small isolated town) NAPA store this weekend purchasing something entirely different when I asked who locally smogs diesel engines? Here in California I now for the first time in our state's history need to have my F-250 smogged. The fellow behind the counter recommended so-and-so and then said that their phone has been ringing off the hook from people asking if they carried a product called "LUBRO MOLY Diesel Purge, The strong medicine for sick diesels"? No fooling, that's what it says on the can. They just started carrying it a few weeks ago and at a quick glance I read on the 16.91 oz./500ml. pour can that it will "Clean engines-reduce the emission of CO2". How much I asked as nothing in that rural NAPA store has any prices on their stuff-six bucks and change-bought a can and off I went.
Get the can home and there is absolutey no mixing chart but it does say "Mix with fuel at each inspection as a preventative measure or apply directly in cases of problematic operation". WHAA?
Reading the can further, there is no website listed to follow up on and the product is made in Germany by LIQUI MOLY GMBH - D-89081 Ulm.
Contains: Naptha (petroleum) hydrodesulferized heavy. CAS# 27247-96-7 2-ethylhexyl nitrate, CAS#68784-56-5 benzene, Mono-C4-9-alkylderivatives.
My 7.3 litre diesel to my knowledge is not sick and I will not pour any of the can into the fuel tank until a find out more about this product-anyone know about or have used this product?
Didn't Germany invent the diesel or at least run with it more than other countries over the years?
