Case DX35
I'm considering purchasing a used DX35 that doesn't have a loader. I will probably buy it if I can put an LX116 on it for roughly the same amount of money as buying a used one with a loader. I'm expecting to pay more because the loader will most likely be new since used ones seem pretty scarce, which is OK unless it's really out of the park. The dealer with the tractor quoted a price of about $5000.00 for one (not installed)with skid steer type mounts. I'm not opposed to installing it myself,I'm just curious if that is the going price or I can do better. Thanks for any info.

The problem with your tractor is that it was not ordered originally as "loader ready." What that means is that your dealer will not only have to order the loader, but he will have to order the joystick, plumbing, subframe, and loader mounting posts for the tractor. This adds substantial cost. If the price includes the skidsteer mount and also the HD bucket, then it is probably close to MSRP. Frankly, I'd expect it to be less if you did your own install.

BTW: The full MSRP for the new 350 series loader is about $5700. I'd expect the LX116 to be a little less, but $5000 has to be close to full price with no discount. If you can get it for $4500 uninstalled, that would surely be a better deal.

The price they were quoting me was for a new LX350 for about 5k. I found a new LX116 at a different dealer for about $4500.00 but they said it's for a gear driven tractor and some of the lines and brackets wouldn't fit my hydro tractor,so I'll probably just order the newer one.

I was looking on Ebay yesterday, they have a lx116 loader strapped to a pallet there. I think it included the joystick and brackets. It was either in Forestry and Agriculture or Farm equipment. A search for lx116 loader should pull it up.
