It is very simple, with a tricycle tractor you cannot help but run over the middle of the windrow you just laid down last time around the field. You could find a wide front for an M, but this is extremely rare. I think I have seen only one in my life, oh wait that was an H. Other wise you can find another tractor already with a wide front. If you are teddering the hay after you cut it, it will not make any difference. (unless of course it is alfalfa, every time you run over dry leaves you loose them all in the tire tracks.)
