M4700

I am looking at a new M4700. Is this enough tractor to run my NH 269 Haybaler.

We have just casually talked price with the dealer and he said $14,000. Is this high, low or middle.

I had one for about five years and it was an excellent tractor. Mine was a 2wd with a Bushhog M346 loader and loaded rear tires. I pulled a JD 24T square baler and a wagon behind it on flat ground and had plenty of power and plenty of weight. You could handle that baler fine. I ran a Hesston 5500 round baler with mine for a year until I got a bigger tractor and it did a decent job of that.

I wish I still had my 4700 but I sold it to my neighbor and he doesn't want to sell it back.

Is this tractor 2wd or 4wd? Loader? Hours?

Are you looking at the M4700 or the MX4700? I had the M4700 and the tractor was great. I only upgraded to the M5400 because the tractor had less hours, loaded tires, a quick attach bucket/fork set and was much cheaper.

I really like the 5 cylinder engine.

are you talking about an MX4700 or M4700, because if its a M4700, thats an old model tractor, that would be some really old inventory

Well, an MX4700, I don't know? I think the rear of that tractor is basically an L series, which may be a little light for baling? It would probably work, but would not have as much longevity as the M4700. Coarse, it all depends on how many bales you are going to make a year.
