looking into buying a m4900. it has 800hrs of light use. looking to do brush hogging and fire wood with it. it has a loader and remotes.Is there any problems with these tractors that i should be concerned about or look into?

I have had one for about 4 1/2 years and have had zero problems with it. I use it for general farming and for light logging and firewood. I did have to replace the battery but that has been it besides fluids and filters. M series are tough tractors and a good bang for the buck.
My only concern would be the front tires, they are 22" and can be hard to find replacements.

I'm going to look at a M4900 at Noon today. I am not sure what to check since this is my first tractor purchase. It has around 800 hours. Priced at $17K.

800 hours really isn't much. When buying used I ask for the maintenance records. Check to make sure hour meter is working and tire wear etc are commensurate with the hours. Check all functions, run in all gears. Obviously check for leaks, look at the condition of the fluids.

I usually have my brother who is a mechanic check it out if I have any concerns.

I apologize for my late "thank you" for your reply. I did buy the M4900 and it has been a great tractor. I have put 200 trouble free hours on it with no issues.

I have a M4900 that I purchased in 2012 with 800 hours. I have put 200 hours of use on it with no issues at all - just the maintenance items. I use it to drill post holes, tote large round bales, rake hay, and bush hog. I installed over 7000 feet of fence last year - I would recommend it to anyone. Hope you get a good price. I paid $17K for mine.
