1994 Kubota 5030SU
TBN, looking at a 1994 M5030SU with Bush Hog FEL (quick attach) plus bucket and hayforks. Set of rear remots, tires are 80/85%, barn kept with sun canopy. Main usage has been for mowing, and basic hay production activities (mowing, raking, stacking bales). 3600 hours to date. Current owner has not set a sale price. I am trying to determine a fair price for this tractor. Any idea what a fair price would be? Thx !

I think I sold mine cheap with 1800 hours. I didn't have the quick attach. Shed kept, used just as you described. In good shape. Sold it to a neighbor for 13,000. One of the best tractors I've ever owned. It was a little tank. One starter rebuild. Otherwise problem free and very dependable.

Can't help with price... can tell you I've got 550 hrs on mine, problem free... extremely pleased with it. It's good to hear of other units with many more hours on them that are still in great shape. I'm hoping to keep mine going forever.

These older M-series are rugged Ag machines - no frills. I believe the M5030 has a 6-cylinder 170 cu in engine (so smooth it just hums) makes about 60 hp with 49 at the pto. - plenty of grunt for 7-foot implements. With 3600 hours its value depends a lot on what kind of maintenance it has had. If filters and oil have been changed on schedule, there are no obvious oil leaks, and repairs have been proper (no bubble gum welding anywhere) a rank guess at its value range would be $11k to $14k (low because of hours). If it is at the farm now, you can tell a lot about the life it has had by looking at the general appearance of other equipment and vehicles there.

The older M's were sold in small numbers - and are not well-known. This tends to reduce their market value - sometimes going very cheap at auctions because of the unfamiliarity of the model. But they are extremely strong and durable machines which last forever with decent upkeep. On the down side, poor upkeep shows as worn rings, contaminated oil, weak hydraulics, sloppy linkages etc. - all can be fixed, but not all cheap. Hope this is useful. Take care, Dick B

Thanks to all 3 who replied. I think I am going to pursue this tractor.

Did you buy your M5030.

I have a friend who passed away about 6 months ago. He purchases his M5030su new (1995) for $35k with a few attachments. After he died, I bought it from his widow for $15k with JD 8' field cultivator, double bottom roll-over plow, and 6' box scraper/cultivator. The tractor had 970 hours on it. I love this tractor! I have dreams at night about being in the tractor. SORRY DID I TYPE THAT OUT LOUD?

Seriously .... It has just the amount of power for a small farm!

Hope your happy with yours!
