I recently posted in the buying page my tale about the broken M6800. I actually traded while she was in the shop for the last of the M9000's. I love the M9000 so far but here is the story of the broken M6800.

I was pushing over a cut off tree and I had ice chains on the rears and ladders on the fronts. I did not engage diff lock. The tractor said "BANG" and that was it.

FYI Kubota and my dealer were 100% supportive. I had a loaner in 2 days(Sat was the day I broke it) and I kept the loaner free of charge until my new M9000 came. the loaner was am M9000 Cab DT. I went for the HST open station. I am too big for the cab and I use the tractor logging.

Kubota fully warranteed the destruct and my dealer took care of me 100%.

I would recommend a Kubota to anyone after this episode.

BTW Kubota has said that nothing I was doing with the unit was the reason for the failure. It was an internal failure. They said it was a very rare but not unheard of destruct. I must say that I am glad. I have been very good about oil changes and good maintenence. The logging gear was added very thoughtfully and I consulted a factory weldor to help with any attaching points.

I had 28 months of very good service and I put 1000 hrs on the meter at 1200 RPM. I guess I had the tractor running about 3000 hrs on the clock. I rabn that tractor at -40 F for weeks in Jan -Mar 2004 and again in Jan and Feb of 2005. I never had any problem at all with the tractor. What a great machine.

I used the M9000 24hrs on the meter since Wednesday and I pulled a truckload of pine pulp in 2 days. It is even better than I expected. I plan on clearing pasture starting tomorrow. Just some overgrowm softwood, but I'll get to try out the grapple.

The photos are in the Kubota tractor photo gallery. I sent in photos from happier times too showing the girl in all her glory and a log pile.

Mark V you wanted to see the skid plates and other work. Sorry about the resolution.

Anybody who wants better pics just send me a PM with a good email. I can also give good details on the forestry package I built.

Hey anybody want to see the cedar strip canoe my friend built last year. I could post them in the family section?
